BCPP - Success at NI Healthcare Awards

CDHN would like to extend congratulations to Gemma and all the staff at McCartan’s Pharmacy on their recent success at the NI Healthcare Awards.

They won the award, ‘NI Community Pharmacy Practice of the Year 2018’.  Killian Johnston from Sweeney’s Chemist was also highly commended in this category.

Gemma was funded by BCPP and worked in partnership with Cara McShane from MAC NI to support local families and children with autism.  Their BCPP project brought 10 young people with autism together, with their parents, for an interactive project.  This proved an excellent way to tackle many of the issues facing young people with autism.  Workshops areas covered throughout the project included personal care and hygiene, changing body and sex, healthy eating and cooking, the need for exercise and its benefits, money and budgeting and First Aid.

CDHN was delighted for the opportunity to nominate McCartan’s Pharmacy and many other BCPP projects for the NI Healthcare Awards.
