A Toolkit for Co-Production in Community Planning

This toolkit is based on the experience of delivering the Carnegie Embedding Wellbeing in Northern Ireland Programme with three Community Planning Partnerships, a review of global practice and consultations with key stakeholders from all of the region’s Community Planning Partnerships. The toolkit covers definitions and principles, community engagement and empowerment for co-production, co-producing in community planning partnership structures and co-producing with service users. The toolit looks at each of the issues, provides advice and guidance and directs to resourses and case studies.

The research compared the cost of a healthy food basket as a proportion of a take-home income for household types in Northern Ireland: two parents and three children (pre, primary and secondary school), two parents and two children (pre-school and primary school), one parent and two children (pre-school and primary school) and a pensioner living alone.

Engaging Communities for Health Improvement: a scoping study for the Health Foundation

This publication by Angela Coulter was originally produced as a scoping study on how to strengthen community engagement in health to inform the design of the Health Foundation's funding for 2010/11. The guidance focuses on four objectives for community engagement in healthcare: determining local needs and aspirations; promoting health and reducing inequalities; improving service design and the quality of care; strengthening local accountability, exploring in each section policy, conceptual and methodological issues, evidence base and case studies. The report also explores different engagement methods and what makes a good project.
