Children and Young People’s Strategy 2020-2030

The Northern Ireland Executive's ten year strategy for children and young peope aims to make life better for all children and young people in Northern Ireland through eight outcomes: children and young people are physically and mentally healthy, enjoy play and leisure, learn and achieve, live in safety and stability, experience economic and environmental wellbeing, make a positive contribution to society, live in a society which respects their rights and live ina society in which equality of opportunity and good relations are promoted.

Equity in Access to Drinking-water Sanitation and Hygiene: water and health

Oliver Schmoll and Valentina Padrei's presentation looks at how nations can work towards equitable access to water. The slides include data on basic drinking-water services and sanitation services across urban and rural populations from around the world, looks at the three equity dimensions of geographical, social and economic disparities and WHO protocol on water and health. There are also tools to support national uptake of the protocol, details on how to use the equitable access score card, a case study and how the protocol on water and health compliments the EU Drinking water directive.

This guide, rather than focusing on how to do it, focuses through examples what is meant by community engaging with evidence and why its important. The guide looks at the different levels and stages of engagement of communities with evidence, why communities are engaging with evidence and how they engage, exploring co-production, community-led action planning, community-led action research, citizens' panel and participatory appraisal.
