Poverty in Scotland 2022

This paper explores the impact of the cost of living crisis in in Scotland in 2022 , with recommendations. As official statistics were unreliable due to Covid-19, the findings were based on a poll of over 4,000 adults and people with lived experience from the End Poverty Scotland Group. The report focuses on the cost of living crisis, people’s ability to deal with these spikes in costs, the impact on people’s lived and people’s opinions on society’s (eg Government etc) responses to helping.

International Policy Guidance and Responses to Covid-19 Mental Health Recovery: rapid review

The aim of this rapid review by C. McCartan et al. was to identify, analyse and present evidence to inform the response to mental health needs arising and/or being exacerbated by Covid-19. The review gives a useful snapshot of mental health inequalities pre-Covid 19, the impact of Covid on mental health and how international government agencies and organisations were planning for their Covid-19 recovery, including key themes and risk populations. It also presents case studies of innovative international responses.

National Men’s Health Action Plan 2017-2021 (Ireland)

The National Men’s Health Action Plan 2017-2021 identifies four themes and twenty-eight actions, adopts a focused and strategic approach to address many of the key health topics and themes under the Framework of Actions highlighted in Healthy Ireland and the HSE priority areas. There continues to be an explicit focus on gender specific and men friendly strategies related to community engagement, capacity building, partnership and sustainability but also retains a focus on mainstreaming men’s health across a broad spectrum of policy areas.
