Recognising and Reducing Health Inequalities: community development in a GP Practice multidisciplinary team

This paper, a year on from DTNIs The Charter for Change, sets out a policy framework for community wealth building as defined by the Centre for Economic Strategies. The framework sets out how to build a new inclusive, local economy in Northern Ireland. The paper discusses the context for change - Stormont, the UK leaving the EU and Covid-19, and the overarching economic situation in Northern Ireland. The paper presents opportunities for unravelling, rather than entrenchment, of existing practises, with an updated ABCD of inclusive local economies, joined up working with clear roles for each key player, from central Government to communities, and a number of key recommendations.
