Socially Determined: new polling on health inequalites

This survey aimed to find out whether people recognise the impact social factors had on health outcomes when they are presented with specific case studies, and how they compare the impact of those factors to individual choices and healthcare services. It also looked at how attitudes vary based on people’s background, beliefs and personal health, and views on the role of the state in addressing health inequalities.

National Men’s Health Action Plan 2024-2028 (Ireland)

The National Men’s Health Action Plan 2024-2028 provides the rational for a specific policy focus on men's health, before identifying eight key principles underpinning Ireland's approach to men's health policy: gender equity, intersectionality, community development, collaboration and partnership, health promotion, evidence-based practice, empowering men to take ownership of their health and leadership. The Action Plan has four themes. There is a useful list of research carried out during 2017-2024.

Covid-19 Impact Survey March 2020 Results

The results from NICVA's Covid-19 survey sent in March 2020, which was sent to all heads of VCSE sector member organisations: 15% response rate (n=579) . The survey's eight questions looked at how the Covid-19 crisis was impacting organisations, number of beneficiaries/service users affected by services/activities that had been stopped, actions/plans undertaken and those planned to be implemented in response to the Covid-19 crisis, how many weeks organisations thought their reserves would sustain its operations during Covid-19, what supports organisations needed, including advice and guidance.
