Health Inequalities Annual Report 2025

The Department of Health's Annual Report for 2025 on the health inequality gaps between the most well off and least well deprived areas of Northern Ireland, and within Health and Social Care Trust and Local Government District areas. Data on eight health related indicators are presented: hospital activity, diet and dental health, pregnancy and early years, alcohol, drugs and smoking, mental health and wellbeing, premature mortality, life expectancy and general health, major diseases and conditions.

This report by Michael Marmot et al. looks at how the pandemic has affected health inequalities in England. It examines inequalities in those at risk and died from Covid-19, how the pandemic, and the societal response has effected social and economic inequalities, as well mental and physical health. The report also looks at the likely impact Covid-19 will have had on health inequalities in the future.
