Directors of Public Health and the Covid-19 Pandemic

Shilpa Ross et al.’s paper explores the findings of interviews with Directors of Public Health and other leaders working at local, regional and national levels to better understand their experience of the Covid-19 pandemic, and what is needed for recovery and any future public health emergencies. The paper provides a context for the public health systems in the UK, public health response to Covid-19, the critical roles Directors of Public Health played and the relationships and resourced needed.
