Helen McNamee’s report on Inspiring Impact and impact practice in Northern Ireland presents the findings of primary research in the form of informal scoping meetings, a survey and workshops completed by CDHN between January and June 2021. The purpose of the research was to, explore the current usage levels and understanding of impact practice in Northern Ireland, how organisations can be further supported to achieve better outcomes and show the full impact of their work, review the impact and learning of the Inspiring Impact programme in Northern Ireland and help decide the priorities for Impact Practice and Inspiring Impact in Northern Ireland.

Promoting Health Equity: a resource to help communities address social determinants of health

This workbook help public health practicioners and partners interested in addressing social determinants of health in order to promote health and achieve health equity. Based on the October 2003 'Social Determinants of Disparities in Health: Learning from Doing' Forum and contributed to by key stakeholders with experience developing, implementing and evaluating interventions. The workbook provides the case studies of nine community initiatives that were presented to the Forum, ranging from small scale to large scale programme and policy initiatives, before giving guidance on the steps to develop a social determinants of health inequity initiative within the community. Putting People First: the mid and east antrim community plan

This is the first community plan for Mid and East Antrim area for 2017-2032. The plan sets out their vision and the nineteen outcomes and indicators under the five priority themes of sustainable jobs and developing our tourism potential, good health and wellbeing, progress in education and improving aspirations for all, improving community safety and cohesion and our environment. The plan gives statistics on the area under each theme heading.

This report, often referred to as the Bengoa Report (after the Chair, Professor Rafael Bengoa), is a landmark 2016 expert panel review commissoned by the Department of Health. It puts forward the argument that the health and social care system needs to change, patient pathways need to be modernised and focus needs to be on prevention, integrated care and accountable care systems.
