Building Healthy Communities: strategic partnership from concept to delivery

This policy briefing paper provides an overview of the current and likely effects of the ‘Cost-of Living Crisis’ on mental health. The briefing is informed through evidence, engagement with people with lived experience of disadvanage, staff of other third-sector organisations and anti-poverty organisations, as well as three focus groups. The cost of living crisis, UK and devolved government interventions, the mental health effects of financial crisis and the current crisis, strategies and what government, communities and individuals can do are all explored.

This is the Department of Health's ten year strategic roadmap to transform the Health and Social Care system in Northern Ireland. It is based on the Bengoa Expert Panel recommendations, and offers a shift to a more holistic person centrered focus on prevention, early intervention, and supporting the individual and wellbeing.
