Commissioned by NHS England and incorporating research from the a Wellcome Trust funded award, this interactive, comprehensive guide was produced by the Marie Polley et al. The guide focuses on what is social prescribing, the different models and essential ingredients of social prescribing schemes, what makes a good link worker and referrals (including to a local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisation), what is needed to manage risk, strategic and governance and carry out evaluations. The guide contains useful resources, including feasibility and evaluation checklists.

National Men’s Health Action Plan 2017-2021 (Ireland)

The National Men’s Health Action Plan 2017-2021 identifies four themes and twenty-eight actions, adopts a focused and strategic approach to address many of the key health topics and themes under the Framework of Actions highlighted in Healthy Ireland and the HSE priority areas. There continues to be an explicit focus on gender specific and men friendly strategies related to community engagement, capacity building, partnership and sustainability but also retains a focus on mainstreaming men’s health across a broad spectrum of policy areas. There is a useful extensive list of national and international publications and presentations on men's health in the appendix.
